Fondazione Baruchello, in the framework of the exhibition 5 secondi by Andrea Martinucci, curated by Serena Schioppa, organized a public program consisting of three appointments. After the exhibition opening, the second meeting was an opportunity to present the book 5 secondi (Arbor Editions, 2025) edited by Lisa Andreani. At the conclusion of the project, the Foundation is organizing in collaboration with the nonprofit space IUNO a workshop that proposes a reflection on the idea of temporality elaborated by Martinucci, in order to build a possible glossary of the exhibition. The event will feature artist Andrea Martinucci, exhibition curator Serena Schioppa, along with curators and art historians Ilaria Gianni, Cecilia Canziani and Giulia Gaibisso.
The and participants will be asked to define, in a specific time frame and without any help, a series of headwords associated with the themes and subjects investigated and represented by the artist.
As in vocabularies, in addition to its definition, each word should be accompanied by examples that contextualize its use: through such a descriptive exercise, participants will thus return a personal translation of the exhibition, objects and themes illustrated in it. A time interval inversely proportional to the complexity of individual lemmas will be used to define them, in order to encourage unusual and unconventional descriptions. Through such a “rule,” the exercise will encourage contractions and dilations of thought, metaphorically replicating techniques, such as slowing down and speeding up, typical of cinematic language. Finally, participants will be invited to add a word that expands, making it even more uncertain and becoming, the initially proposed glossary.
The materials that emerged from the workshop will be left to the Baruchello Foundation and will become part of its archive-projects.
Free admission with reservations required (max 20 places).
